House Painters in Papillion, Nebraska
One Papillion street is 1870s clapboard with a porch on it. Half a mile west, the siding is engineered wood that hasn't seen its second coat yet. Same city, two entirely different paint jobs.
There’s no Papillion job in our portfolio yet, and no Papillion office. Our shop is in Ashland and that’s where the truck comes from. What we know is what the city is made of. It was platted as a railroad town in 1870, and between 2010 and 2020 it added more people than lived here in all of 1960. Twelve square miles hold both facts at once.
The old grid around Washington and Jefferson
This is where the town started, and the houses around it are the oldest here. Wood clapboard, wood windows, porch posts, deep trim, coats stacked on coats. Papio Creek runs through the middle of town, and a low shaded wall near water stays damp long after the rest dries. Most of the work on a place like that happens before the first coat. Sherwin-Williams is our main supplier, and even good paint won’t hold on wood that wasn’t taken back to something sound.
The sixties and seventies belt
Papillion went from 2,235 people in 1960 to 5,606 in 1970, and that decade is still most of the middle of town. Those ranches and split-levels are on their third or fourth color, and every coat is carrying the one underneath. Somewhere in the stack there’s usually a layer that has quit, so a repaint on a house that age starts with finding out what’s still stuck down.
The new streets along 370
Granite Falls, the Tower District, ground still being platted along the highway. Engineered wood and fiber cement, with the original paint mostly still doing its job. If yours is one of those, the siding isn’t the job. The trim, the doors and the garage are, because that’s where a builder’s finish gives out first. Two-story walls on open lots put us on the boom lift.
Omaha is where our nearest real work is: the exterior and trim of a stucco bungalow, and a cedar fence brought back with stain. Neither is in Papillion and we won’t dress them up as such. They’re an old house handled top to bottom and a fence that wanted stain instead of paint, which is most of what an exterior call turns out to be. Our own painters, second generation, painting since 1981, with three years of warranty behind the labor and the materials. Call 402.521.5800 and we’ll put your quote in writing, free.
